Updates and Submissions

UTAGA is excited to support you in sharing news and other publishable materials with the alumni community and members of the department. The opportunities range from sharing news of a new job, to publishing a feature article with photos in GeoPlan. Below is a list reason why you may want submit to UTAGA.

• Share news of a new job
• Share photos from a recent trip
• Publish an article-of-interest to alumni and members of the department
• Promote a recently published book or other creative works
• Forward a link to a news piece about yourself or another alumni member you know

Volunteering

If you’re looking for in-person participation with the alumni community, there are a number of opportunities for this as well:

Become a committee member: The best way to volunteer is to join the UTAGA committee. In the committee, not only can you greatly contribute to alumni programs and communications, and gain valuable volunteer experience, you’ll enjoy a free dinner whenever the committee meets! 

Lead a GeoTrip: GeoTrips are themed walks usually led by someone who has a specialized knowledge of a particular place. We would love to hear your GeoTrip idea, and help organize and promote the walk.

Organize an event: If you’d like to organize a reunion for graduates of a particular year, or a social event for the alumni community as a whole, UTAGA would love to help you coordinate, plan and promote.
