WIT Program
The Department of Geography is committed to providing students with the communication tools necessary to critically engage in the world. The department is particularly committed to improving student writing. It is actively involved in the College of Arts and Science writing initiative. As part of this program, select undergraduate courses are incorporating a variety of methods to assist students in strengthening and honing their writing abilities. This page should serve as a resource for instructors, teachings assistants and undergraduates with links to material developed for specific courses in the department as well as other documents developed within the university as part of the ongoing writing initiative.

This is a short statement of what the department expects of its specialists and majors in regard to writing. These goals are pursued through the development and evaluation of written assignments across the department.

Each year a number of courses participate in the WIT program within Geography. This is a list of courses that have participated in the program and the materials developed during that time. These materials may no longer be in use, but may be useful in developing assignments and structures that enable students to obtain the objectives outlined by the department.
